Dior Backstage foundation — Up Close and Poresonal

This one was so raved that, as soon as I test-drived my sample (as I should always do, impulsive buyer me…) I had to make a video on it.

This foundation retails for around 40$, around 40€, or 39£ — for 50ml —, comes in 40 shades with 4 different undertones, it’s not cruelty free and claims highly customisable coverage, a natural finish, and resisting through water and sweat.
It’s widely available in counters worldwide, and I found it online at Selfridges and, of course, Sephora US.

Clinique old favourites (and a new flirt)

Sometimes I like to look at my beauty stash by brand to see what is my curated selection from it. Clinique is a brand I never noticed I had a strong relationship with, until I realised that some of their products are actually re-re-re-re-purchases. In this day and age of trends and companies coming out with new launches that they shove down your throat, this means A LOT (quite more than stuff I buy once and move on to the next new shiny equivalent from any other brand).

Here’s my curated selection of besties from Clinique (and a new fling I’m into at the moment):

Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm
Fresh Pressed System
Beyond Perfecting Foundation
Lash Power Mascara
Beyond Perfecting Concealer

Naked Palette 1 — Beauty Throwback

a new series has arrived… and what a start. just a week after I filmed everything, Urban Decay announced that they’re discontinuing their iconic Naked Palette, which is precisely the first one to be featured on my little Post-Youtube Beauty Hall of Fame.

it’s a piece of makeup History, and has marked countless first steps of millions of people in makeup. it’s no small feat to be the responsible for the complete rethinking of the concept of a makeup palette that is “beginner-friendly” throughout the whole industry. plus, this palette alone launched dozens of talented at-home make up artists into stardom.

featuring a pretty nice assortment of neutral but versatile shades, I dusted it off and tried to see if it still lived up to its cult status — by doing 4 different looks.

trend: summer-blue eyes

not everyone is comfortable with wearing a bright pop of blue on the eyes, but the fact of the matter is that colour is *everywhere*, nowadays.
if you’re feeling like today is the day — instead of casting that shade aside for a special occasion that may never come —, I’ve created a simple look that I think is subdued enough for many people to enjoy.

Colour Pop Luxe Lipsticks

Some people ask me why, of all things overseas, I keep purchasing stuff from Colour Pop.

Well, even with the steep customs, each product comes out at around 8€. and the quality of almost every single item I bought is top notch.

Enter the Lux Lipsticks. I’ve mentioned so many products on my channel, now I’ve decided to make a dedicated video just to my little lip wardrobe. The formula is high-end equivalent, the packaging is not only cute but expensive-feeling. They have so many colours it’s easy to make a curated selection of lipsticks for any occasion.
They can be used sheered out or full-impact with one swipe, mixed for new colours and topped up with some cool glosses for extra shine. Despite my lips being quite dry, these lipsticks — especially the bolder colours — are quite forgiving.

All in all, I haven’t found anything like these within this price range. So let my addiction run free.

Essence Fresh & Fit Up Close and Poresonal

It’s been a while since I’ve done an Up Close and Poresonal on an affordable foundation, and it sure has been quite a while since I’ve ventured into the luminous and glowy side of coverage.
The claims on Essence Fresh & Fit Awake Makeup are simple: fresh, glowy complexion, high coverage without mask effect. If you’d like to see how I got along with it through a long day and take notes to see if it makes it into your to-buy list, just click away!

As you may know, Essence is available in drugstores and does not have (as far as I know) an online shop.

grwm — warm morning routine

this was meant to be a quick and paired-down Get Ready With Me, but, looking at the list of products, I understand this looks daunting and an exaggeration.
yet, I like my morning ritual (because I can’t have caffeine, this ends up being my meditation and perk-me-up all in one), and there are some basic products I think everyone should have on their AM routine: cleanse, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and SPF.
and an oil or moisturiser for dry environments.

*on another note, Ole Henriksen seems to have vanished from the face of the European Internet. I’ve searched high and low, and it has disappeared from the websites that usually carry the brand. It’s a bummer, I apologise, and I hope you can find it in your local store.
