I was just pulling out a quick look to film the Look Fantastic Beauty Box Unboxing (from last week), and I decided to record what I did.
I haven’t featured enough my favourite eyeshadow palettes (from Juvia’s Place) and I’m guilty as charged of saving them for those ba-bam looks, because of their amazing bright bold colours. But it’s just as easy to create a simple smokey eye with it, and the formulas of the mattes are just incredible.
And this tutorial comes in handy, because Juvia’s Place is currently at around 30% off at Beauty Bay (not sponsored, just useful information, peeps).
this is one of the most talked about palettes on the interwebs at the moment (until the next must-have release). I had my eyes on it and, despite the steep price, the uniqueness of some of the shades was really intriguing me. I’m happy to say that I’m overall really impressed with this palette. it combines several unique shades, some more on-trend colours and just enough neutrals. it is what a high end palette should be, both in colour and finish variety as in quality: the mattes pack a punch and are easy to blend and build, the metallics are creamy and impactful, the duo-chrome toppers have a gorgeous effect. I’ll never be able to touch that glitter, though, it looks just too crumbly for me to fiddle with.
it is impressive how many different looks you can create with this palette, so I decided to use it today for four (maybe obvious but very beautiful) combinations. when you splash out your hard-earned money, it’s great to know you can make several quite different looks.
I’d say this is a going-out palette — despite giving you the ability to create softer looks, its strong suit is actually the vibrant shades and finishes, and the versatility you can achieve with some quite unique combinations.
yes, I know, the video is long. but come on! it’s four looks for your autumn menu.
another tutorial for you, this time venturing into the green eyeshadow, which is something I do not tend to wear.
I got a lot of inspiration from Max Manaphany’s makeup (RuPaul season 7), although I wanted to make it a bit more every-day friendly.
For more edgy-editorial purposes I paired it with a very cool toned lip option, and then a more peachy simples lipstick.
For this eye look, you’ll need a couple of your neutrals (best if on the cooler toned side), a strong metallic green and a deep deep dark brown, black eye pencil and mascara.
a simple — some may call it basic, I call it classy — tutorial for wearing a vampy colour on your lips in a way that I find absolutely daytime appropriate, but also really sophisticated to wear on a night out.
I’ll be playing with some autumn-inspired looks, and I’m beginning with a fail-safe colour scheme: grungy brown smokey eyes, cool pink cheeks and glossy nude-y pink lips, on a more matte complexion.
