Oden’s Eye Mystery Box

On a post-surgery haze, I decided to treat myself to a mystery box, of all things.

Oh, what a treat to play with make up I knew nothing about! Well, I do love Oden’s Eye as a whole and have collected several of their products over the last year or so – I wouldn’t have gone blind on just a random box like that, I’m not completely deranged – but I did not know what was coming my way when purchasing this mystery box, and it allowed me to dive into the brand even further.

did this go a bit against my Make Up Reset kind of mood? yes, but variety is the spice of life and any products I don’t feel I’ll use will easily find new homes in my friend’s collections.

my calculations are simplistic and do not take into account the markup of sample/travel-size packaging:

(full size price ÷ full size amount) × sample amount

the Ordinary Coverage foundation . up close and poresonal

it finally arrived, and I spend a whole day with it on my face to show you how it performs on combo, acne prone, ageing skin.

please keep in mind that this was *my* personal experience with it, and sort of a first impressions.

for more information on how to choose your shade, please read my post on the Serum Foundation.

where to buy: I usually go to Victoria Health for everything The Ordinary, but you can also buy the Colours range directly from the Deciem — the Ordinary website.

affordable makeup haul & first impressions

buckle up because this is a long one!
I’ve been collecting a few bits and pieces of affordable makeup brands (supermarket, drugstore, pharmacy, high street), and I decided to do a video where I try several of those products on my face and get to see how they behave throughout the day.

you can find most of the products at your local drugstore/pharmacy, but Feelunique, Look Fantastic and Boots International are always great international references for these kinds of brands (except Essence, Kiko, H&M and Makeup Revolution).

Kiko Smart Dry Nail Laquer

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (Look FantasticFeelunique)

L’Oréal True Match Foundation (not many shades at Feelunique, but you can find it at your local drugstore)

Essence 2 in 1 Highlight and Contouring stick

Essence I Love Color Intensifying Eyeshadow Base

Essence My Must Haves Eyeshadow 14 – Purple Clouds

Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow in Purple Heaven — I couldn’t, for the life of me, find an online store that looked reliable, so check your local drugstore or pharmacy to see if they carry the brand.

Essence Eye and Face Palette 01

Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara

L’Oréal True Match Pressed Powder, again, through Feelunique or Lookfantastic

Essence My Must Haves Highlighter Powder

Essence Strobing Highlighter in let it glow!

Essence My Must Haves Lip Base

Essence My Must Haves Lip Powder

Essence Glossy Stick Lip Colour 02 – clear nude

also mentioned but not worn:
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
H&M Sensorium Eye Color in Cuveè Rose

Up Close and Poresonal — L’Oréal Total Cover

So, here are the claims: “(…) a flawless, full coverage base that lasts up to 24 hours. The zero compromise, camouflage formula covers everything from blemishes, redness and tattoos without the overload, while the matte finish leaves you with an even, shine-free base.  No compromise. No transfer. No overload”

This sounds perfect for my hyper pigmentation and my blemish and all-over un-evenness.
You can trust me to shove my face on your screen to show you how it all went down, warts and all…

You can find this foundation in your local drugstores, and online at Feelunique. The shade range varies depending on the country/shop you buy it from.

innisfree . first impressions

after a long wait (and a lot of trees killed in the process)this ps with customs, I finally dug deep into my little package from the other side of the world, getting to know a bit more about Korean drugstore beauty and skincare.

mulled wine . smokey eyes for the new year’s I

this is the first of three looks I’m planning on posting for a New Year’s Eve party — or any social event when you’re in the mood for a more glam look.

this first one has some rusty cranberry shades that are quite on trend.

since I was given a new palette for Christmas — the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette — I decided to give it a go on camera. and oh, boy, was I pleasantly surprised!
