Some people had huge artistic impulses and took the added time some of us had to play with make up with the freedom of a kid with watercolours. Sadly, it was not my case. Nonetheless, I still found som great gems that became staples in my make up routine, and that let me feel I wasn’t totally falling into a rut.
I was going out with some friends that evening, after filming my mini-haul video, so I decided to record myself getting ready, and use some (plenty) of my current favourite products. Some you’re sick and tired of hearing me talk about, some I’ve done reviews on, some may be a new discovery for you.
I hope you enjoy this video. All the links to the products are down below.
buckle up because this is a long one!
I’ve been collecting a few bits and pieces of affordable makeup brands (supermarket, drugstore, pharmacy, high street), and I decided to do a video where I try several of those products on my face and get to see how they behave throughout the day.
you can find most of the products at your local drugstore/pharmacy, but Feelunique, Look Fantastic and Boots International are always great international references for these kinds of brands (except Essence, Kiko, H&M and Makeup Revolution).
Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow in Purple Heaven — I couldn’t, for the life of me, find an online store that looked reliable, so check your local drugstore or pharmacy to see if they carry the brand.
this one was soooo hard for me. I hate seeing myself with pink makeup. I thinks it’s because of my yellow undertones, it always looks… off… oh, well, but I took one for the team, and I managed to pull it off before I chickened out!
I talk so much, it took me almost a day to get this video under 15 minutes… but I think I got to make a good bundles of tips and favourites for you guys.
richly pigmented and with a matte finish, lip liners are often disregarded as those things that you don’t actually need, or you’ll think of using once in a blue moon when you’re in the mood for a seamless bold lip with added lasting power.
there is more to these overlooked products, I say! when you’re pouting because you’re tempted by an on-trend colour and you don’t want to dish out all that money for a lipstick you won’t wear that often, these are the babies you should pay attention to.
they are also the perfect tool/product to mix and match lip colours with more ease, tone down some brights, spruce up some lights, and vice-versa.
why, you’re not in the mood for a matte lip? no worries: a lip balm can provide a creamy texture, and a gloss makes your smacker shine on for the night.
for those who got overwhelmed with the colour-picking, the blending, the expensive products and the overall faff of my previous smokey eye video, here’s a fool- proof tutorial with one eyeshadow and one brush.
